December 2017

Welcome to the fourth edition of Notes, these are generally supposed to be at the start of the month but as usual things have been a bit hectic here. Which brings me to this first little bit of information.
We are relocating to a new premises!

By mid January we hoped to be up and running at a larger facility on the Northside.

Thanks to all of the bands that have made records here over the past 3 years (over 100 by my count). Some of those records never came out, some were on a limited run of cassettes, some got pressed and took that band around the world, some made AOTY lists and became adored… regardless of if they were a signpost or an opus, it was a pleasure working on every single one of them.
Thank you so much to everyone that came and created something here. Thank you to all the interns, the bands that jammed here on off nights, and to anyone that just turned up and helped out because I was too exhausted. It can be a fatiguing existence working 50+ hours a week but all of the incredible bands in the community here make it everything.
The new space has more live rooms and the drum tracking space is much larger. It was designed by Matrix acoustics in conjunction with Latemore architects here in QLD. More info to be shared at a later point. We will be using this xmas break to perform further construction and wiring.
Underground will still be a single studio facility run by myself, we are taking bookings from late Jan onwards!

Canine LP Tracking

Canine are an amazing punk band from Sydney that travelled up to track and mix an LP.
Below are some photos of the Canine session that took place throughout the first week of December.
