We tracked a drum set here illustrating what the live room sounds like without any compression, EQ or synthesis after the fact. The first video is a recording that is utilising the stereo blumlein mic infront of the kit in addition to a slight blend of a distant ambient microphone. These microphones have no treatment.
The second video is leaning heavily on the close microphones, mostly moving coil mics hugging the drum shells. Again, no equalisation or compression, although there is a peak limiter on the master buss.
